Getting your colleagues involved in marketing your LinkedIn, often known as employee advocacy, can deliver huge rewards for both employees and businesses alike. Encouraging workers to share company values and messages as a marketing strategy is a pragmatic and effective way to broaden reach and interaction with LinkedIn ‘s clients, prospects and other key stakeholders.
There is a simple rule that people do business with people they know, they like, and they trust. So it’s more about using personal profiles on LinkedIn, rather than concentrating resources on the company’s page. Facebook marketing figures also show that success in social media comes not from company profiles but from employee profiles.
Once employees understand why you need their support and the influence of their LinkedIn profiles to help you expand the scope of your company’s website, here are a few ways to endorse the activities of those employees.
1.Using the LinkedIn Employee Notification Function for Business Web Mails
Using the LinkedIn Employee Notifications app, you can let your colleagues know when you’ve posted an update to your company page. All employees need to do is react (like for example), add a message, or share it with their own network.
First, post the update to your page to use this feature. Then, in the upper right corner of the post, click the Notify Employees button.
Employees who have connected to your company page in their LinkedIn profile’s Experience section can receive a notification on both a desktop and cell phone.
Note that admins to the page can notify employees only once a day. Notifications are given on the basis of a relevant model that aims to notify a critical group of employees while maximizing the overall experience of LinkedIn members.
Some staff, including administrators, will not be informed if the applicable model decides that the update is not material with which they are likely to interact based on their page history.
2. Using the LinkedIn Teammates feature to prioritize the quality of the LinkedIn feed
Facilitate workers to use the Teammates app that is currently being piloted by LinkedIn to facilitate more internal cooperation within the company. This feature will ensure employees see their current team ‘s LinkedIn updates, such as their manager, teammates reporting to their manager, other teammates and direct reports.
Notifications include updates such as birthdays, job anniversaries, posts, shares, and comments. Teammates won’t see any private acts like direct messages, searches, or thoughts on work posting.
Click the My Network icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage to use the LinkedIn Teammates app, and click the Teammates on the left. You will then be redirected to a list of current members of your team. Anyone you wish to add as a teammate must have your company listed in their profile on LinkedIn.
Type the name of a teammate you would like to add into the Add Teammates field, and then click Add next to the name of your teammate. If you are not on LinkedIn with your teammate, you will need to click Connect next to their name before you can add them to your team.
Your teammates’ list is only visible to you, although they can inform you of your connections when you add teammates. Whether you want to be notified of all updates, highlights, or just updates related to you, you can manage at any time.
LinkedIn is working to enhance the features and you will soon be able to add other forms of colleagues and essential professional relationships. You can add up to one manager at this point, 19 teammates reporting to your boss, 20 reports directly, and 30 other teammates. Every coworker who no longer works for the same organization will be automatically transferred to the former squad.
